[...] Okay confession I didn't just forget I was too focused on the leadership exploration stuff and I didn't want to get distracted right before and the easiest way to avoid any of that was just not to tell most people and maybe I should have just not told anyone right now either!
Just like ... don't tell me I'm going to ace it or kick ass or whatever everybody else keeps saying to be reassuring because I'm not going to ace it I've never ever aced a test ever I just need to improve and every time somebody's over encouraging about it it just stresses me out
The best advice I've ever gotten was that I should always do my best. If I can leave a situation knowing that I gave it my all, that's all I can do. And I have to be okay with that.
You're young. You remind them of themselves years ago. You're bright and shiny with your hope. If they weren't encouraging you, it would make them feel like they were letting you down. Block out the things you don't want to hear and focus on the things you do. And if you find yourself in want of a purportedly lucky acorn, shout.
