I'd offer to send you a video, but [...] you should see it for yourself. At some point.
I think [...] there's always been a lot we don't understand, but it feels a lot closer all of the sudden. And I don't know if it'd be worse if it were all connected or if it weren't or how we're even supposed to start figuring that out so we can make the right decisions. Focus on the right things instead of.
Closer is a good word for it and if it IS connected is this stuff on purpose or is it just happening idk and I'm not sure which of those is worse either
[...] Is it weird that after the Ernest Waters thing which is a real mindfuck and I need to process that a lot more before I'm gonna get anywhere with it I think the thing that's making me the second most uncomfortable is the weird farmers market people
[...] I don't think so. I stayed home so I didn't see them, but I found one of their pamphlets in the Recreation Center and it's sort of unsettling. Putting Liminals on a pedestal like we're not just people and celebrating the Asphodels after everything that happened in Burlington. I don't know if they're a 'cult' like people said but all of that just feels strange.
I went to their booth when I thought they were just like hippie witches but the pamphlets and the meeting invite and the [...] okay it's gross to say 'fetishizing' but it is kind of that with Liminals plus the asphodels stuff I got a lot of bad vibes really quickly about it all
And then people were like what if we went to the meeting and checked it out and I did not like that either so I went but like to make sure nobody drank the metaphorical kool aid
I mean I may've been overreacting it was a pretty small group and I don't think anybody here's gonna get like sucked in especially with how everybody's been like joking about cults and stuff but [...] I really don't trust that guy in charge
That makes sense. [...] Well. Hopefully, he won't find much traction around here. I doubt the locals appreciate him talking about the Asphodels like that, if nothing else. And if the group stays small, maybe it'll just dissipate?
Oh [...] My dad was sort of in a like internet cult for rifts before he disappeared [...] Okay not really 'sort of' like he was fully in it [...] I didn't really think of it quite that way except Rory said something like he and Rory were sort of internet friends but that's how he understood my dad's whole thing that it was a 'cult' and now it's kind of the only way I think about it too [...] sorry idk this is probably weird to hear about
Yeah that's def true I hope you're taking care though even if it feels like it's just sitting around
[...] I'm sorry, Linus. [...] Not knowing where your dad is has to be so hard even without it being tangled up in [...] all that. And now there's a group like this on our doorstep. I can't imagine how that feels.
But, for what it's worth, I don't think that experience means you can't trust how they come across to you.
And please don't apologize. You can always talk to me if you want to.
I don't know. [...] They've all got to have lives outside of the 'Children of Persephone'. People that care about them or things that matter to them. So maybe try to remind them of that and help them find some grounding in that? In something more real than everything they're being told. [...] But I know that's easier said than done. Things like that feel like a community for people.
[...] I'm sorry. I shouldn't be talking about this. I don't know enough about it.
Don't apologize man I asked you it's okay [...] and the community thing makes a lot of sense [...] plus like rift and liminal stuff legit is really cool and amazing of course people are gonna get obsessed about it and want answers and stuff [...] even when they do have lives and people and all that

What's your intuition telling you? Do you think they're just people with some off-kilter beliefs or do you think there's [...] more to it?

DM, 8/30
Thanks. Me too. I'm not all that good at 'taking it easy'.
DM, 8/30
Oh man but taking it easy can be one of life's great pleasures

It's nice! But [...] there's always something more important that needs doing, you know?
DM, 8/30
I guess but taking care of yourself is important too
DM, 8/30
[...] I know that's true. But it's always easier to say to other people than to yourself somehow.

I get that. Some things are just difficult to talk about.
